DSF Blog Train February 2011

February's color palette has no set theme, the colors were chosen so that participants could use a Valentine's Theme or make it more general. I went with a Valentine's Theme with a paper pack and an alpha. The alpha has only uppercase letters, numbers and some extras as the font I used did not have lowercase. It is provided with the heart accents in all 6 colors of the glitter.

The papers have 6 patterns and 6 solids....enjoy :)

Starting To Look A Bit Like Christmas!!

So....I have reverted to being a bad blogger lol I have tons of photos that need sorting and I have gotten behind on posting any of them. I still have the pics from Christopher's birthday party....back in October! ... to watermark and post, I swear I will get there lol

In the meantime, we finally have our tree up! Juston went on a school excursion last week to The Great Aussie Bush Camp and while he was away I got the younger two bratz to help me decorate our tree. They had a blast and the tree looks great....doncha think? :)

In other news, I am going to KMart today to get a bike...at least I have been working on hubby to buy me one as they are only $98, if I am successful I will post a pic LOL

**edit - Here is a pic in the packaging, it's unpacked now and hubby has put it together....I don't know what shook more on the first test ride, me or the bike LOL I will have to practise some before my first "big" ride as I haven't ridden a non-stationary bike since my late teens ;)

Since I started actively trying to lose weight I have lost almost 10 kilos and am sitting around 76.5-77 kilos ... it tends to fluctuate a little and I have been struggling with binge eating still though not to the extent I was before. I am going to buy a diary today and start noting what I eat and hopefully that will help! I want to lose weight a little faster and that can only happen if I start using my willpower on the junk food. See the little widget in my sidebar for my progress.

**edit - I have just added a page for my progress photos: CLICK HERE

I am still doing LOTS of walking though, an hour and a half 5-6 days a week when the weather is ok and I think that's the only reason I am not piling it back on some weeks.....so there's my New Year's Resolution - MODERATION not binge :)

Thanx to everyone who has posted kind comments and thank you's for my downloads, I hope my offerings are being used and enjoyed....I have upgraded my gallery to the pro version, feel free to come post your creations!

Merry Christmas everyone! :D

Traditions Paper Pack

I signed up to participate in the December Blog Train but haven't been able to finish my portion as life kinda exploded on me lately lol so I had to drop out. I had already made some papers for it though so it seems a shame for them to go to waste ;)

There are 6 patterns and 5 solids, enjoy :)

DSF Blog Train November 2011

This time round we have with no set theme. The colors could suit different themes from a Spring theme (here in Aus it's that time of year lol) to masculine themes or feminine themes.

My portion has 9 softly textured patterned papers, 1 bow, 1 flower, 1 curly ribbon, 1 curly string and 1 tied ribbon....enjoy :)

Good Times At Tabatinga

Wow, so I haven't posted in a while lol life has been a bit hectic :P

I have some photos to post today, first up is a photo of the muffins I now make for my children. I purchased an app for my iPhone called ChemicalMaze, as quoted from their website:

The Chemical Maze was written to make it simpler and easier to recognise additives and ingredients in foods and cosmetics having the potential to cause discomfort and ill-health. With this recognition comes freedom of choice and for many a new lease on life.

I used it to see what additives were in the food I was feeding my kids, the snacks like meusli bars etc, and I was horrified at what I was putting into my kids bodies, here is some from just one snack product:

Muffin Bakes - these are little chocolate muffin bars with a gooey fudge center

202 (preservative)
Potential Effects: Allergic reactions, Allergic rhinitis (hay fever), Asthma, FIN recommends to avoid, Headache, Hyperactivity, Prohibited foods for infants, Skin irritation, Stomach upset.
Symptoms: Allergic and hyper-sensitive reactions, Asthma, Behavioural problems, Skin ailments (eczema, dermatitis, itcing, hives, rash etc)
Derived from: Petroleum

282 (preservative)
Potential Effects: Developmental delay, FIN recommends to avoid, Headaches and migraine, Innatention, Irritability, Itchy skin rashes, Learning difficulties, Neurological problems, Prohibited foods for infants, Restlessness, Sleep disturbance
Symptoms: Aggressive behaviour, Asthma, Behavioural problems, Gastrointestinal Ailments, Headache and migraine, Hyperactivity, Learning difficulties, Sleep disturbance
Derived from: Bacteria, Synthetic, Maybe GMO, Petroleum

And that was just in one, most of the snacks I bought for them and thought were ok for them to eat had the same or similar ingredients, one even had some worse stuff but I don't still have the box so I can't search it up to put here :(

As a consequence of seeing what's in these products I am baking from scratch now I usually bake every couple of days, chocolate muffins, chocolate cookies, and cornflake cookies are the current favs. Not only are the kids loving the home baking, they are not missing the processed stuff at all....and their behaviour has calmed once again. I removed cordial from their diet a few years back and made them dring water instead and the change then was drastic - they are normal, noisy, bratty kids LMAO but they don't get "hyper" unless they have had too much sugar which I don't allow very often (birthday parties aside lol)

Early in October I attended a Girl's Night In fundraiser for Breast Cancer with my mum, and part of the fundraising was an auction. My mum managed to get an all included voucher for Tabatinga (a kids play center kind of like a jungle gym thing lol) for 4 kids, so last weekend we took our three kids and my nephew for a few hours to have some fun.

First up here are a few pictures of the signs for the cafe, and activities:

Here are a few of the kids....I took a lot more than this and I DID take some of the older boys but they didn't all turn out well lol Jamie is doing an AutoCAD course and so had his head buried in studying lol

My baby boy (Christopher) has just turned 7 on Wednesday and we are having a party for him this afternoon at Hungry Jacks... I must remember to take my camera LOL

I also forgot to mention that I have added a new forum to the website with a basic gallery to show off stuffies you make with my graphics...if so inclined, because I would love to see lol and you can also post on the forum :) « click here for the forum »

The next blog train for DSF is due to take off in a couple of days so keep an eye out ... I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend planned!

Meet Our New Furbaby ~ Eva

We are blessed to add a new furbaby to our family. Eva originally belonged to my cousin Scott and his family, but due to work commitments they needed to rehome her. I chanced upon the post on Facebook and was immediately drawn to Eva. She is a Great Dane cross Rhodesian Ridgeback though I think the Dane presents more strongly in her lol

As a child growing up, we had both a pure Great Dane and a Rhodesian Ridgeback so I know the temperaments reasonably well. Eva is absolutely adorable and has an awesome nature. I took her for a long walk this morning and she walked beautifully.....we are so lucky to have her :)

Here are a few photos I took of her yesterday....in the first she is wondering what all the clicking and whirring sounds are coming from my camera....I think this will be one of my fav pics of her lol

Here she is watching what is happening outside in our little cul-de-sac

And here she is cleaning out under our table...the kids ever so kindly left some food mess for her to hoover up LOL

I think Eva is a perfect fit for our family, I reckon I will have lots more photos to show off :P
